Amar Bonito

Lisbon (2025)

This mural began when I stumbled upon the words „amores alegres“ (“joyful loves”) while reading a book by García Márquez.

They led me back to a poem often attributed to Frida Kahlo, where she writes about un „amor bonito“, the kind of love we all deserve: love that heals, lifts, and inspires.

From those words, this mural was born: a reflection on what it means to love beautifully.

To AMAR BONITO is to love generously, sincerely, and bravely. Even when it isn’t met with the same courage. Because loving truthfully is not a weakness. It’s a super power!

AMAR BONITO is an invitation.
To choose to love kindly, sincerely and bravely. Specially nowadays.
